Furrer+Frey, Overhead Contact Line ConstructionThe companyEmil Furrer and Arnold Frey founded the electrical overhead line contact organisation of Furrer+Frey in 1923. During this period the implementations of electrification for Switzerland’s railways were in progress. The company have been making overhead contact line systems ever since and has grown considerably to meet the ever increasing global demands. To date, Furrer+Frey have made a substantial contribution to the development of electrification. Modern track systems are not enough on their own to manage the expansion of tractive power conditions and an increase in scheduled trains. The result is that major demands are imposed on the loading capacity and service life of contact line systems. Our success is assured by our contract manager’s and assembly teams’ extensive experience. As an organisation we offer our employees continuous training programmes in their area of expertise. In addition, Furrer+Frey invest extensively in research and development of new materials within our current processes. The success of our organisation is due to these attributes which benefit our customers and the general public. Furrer+Frey is family firm which is committed to the fundamental principles of good service, reliability and quality. Read also the Interview in Railway Strategies Apr/May 2011. Our employees
