The feasability of bending the conductor rail to a radius of only 20 m has been shown in a test.

The conductor rail above the closed track is swung away and covered with plastic to protect it from pollution. Once construction works are finished, the conductor rail is swung back in place and the track is re-opened for electric traction.

Topics: control systems and interlockings, overhead contact lines inside the shed, cranes, falling safety equipment, magnetically locked switch keys, earthing rods and earthing switches, concepts for earthing and grounding, maintenance and repair work.

The Seminary was a big success. It was attended by representatives of numerous Private Railways, SBB and the Federal Office of Transportation. It offered an excellent platform for the discussion of topics concerning control systems, interlockings and moveable conductor rails. The mixture between technical presentations and visiting the engine shed's infrastructure was much appreciated by the participants. At lunch, railway technology and other vital aspects of daily life were being discussed animatedly..
