Liracos is the Furrer+Frey Light Rail contact line system.

Light Rail is the answer to track-bound public transport in urban areas. Public authorities, adjoining residents and users of Light Rail systems set store by the integration of fixed systems within existing urban or local surroundings. Slim tubular cantilevers and cables in synthetic material are easy on the eyes and can be matched in colour to their environment.

Thanks to the fully-insulated design of the cantilevers and steady arms, there are no live parts extending outside level of the contact line.

Tube combinations in diameters of

ø 70 / 55 / 38 mm

or

ø 55 / 38 / 26 mm

are used according to load on the cantilevers.

...trolley bus lines are still an attractive option today

Furrer+Frey took over the former BBC trolley bus contact line system in the Fifties and have developed it continuously since then. Our company's contact lines and components have been in use for years with the public transport services in the Swiss cities of Neuenburg, St. Gallen, Fribourg, and abroad in Solingen (Germany) and Modena (Italy).

We set new planning standards when we introduced our slim-line high-speed points cut into the contact wire of the trolley-bus contact line. This system allows speeds of 80 kmph and has since been copied by our competitors. There could be no better compliment to its quality.

In 2004, for the first time after more than 40 years, a new Trolley-bus line opened for service in Sweden. It was Furrer+Frey who had the honour to plan and build it.
