Over the course of just eight weekends, with the line closed for 54 hours from Saturday to Monday morning each time, the old overhead contact line system in the SBB Heitersberg Tunnel was dismantled and a new rigid overhead conductor rail system (ROCS) installed. Our newly designed temporary transition elements from the catenary system to ROCS allowed for the line to be used at full speed during the week. More than ten kilometres of our latest high-speed overhead conductor rail model CR 4 are now in operation.

Around 80 employees were on duty on each of the eight weekends. The extremely tight schedule was met successfully with no delays thanks to the careful, accident-free work and well-functioning machines and equipment. We also have an internal record to celebrate: with a length of 330 metres, the longest work train we have ever used!

Together with the client and all those involved, we are delighted with the success of the project.
