Contact wire replacement for the Glattalbahn

In October 2024, the overhead contact line on the Glattalbahn was damaged by a lorry at the Neugut station in Wallisellen. At the time, the line was repaired temporarily as an emergency solution to avoid interrupting train services.

The permanent replacement was carried out as planned over two weeks from 5 May 2025. During this time, we have replaced the damaged contact wire on approximately 1.3 kilometres between the Neugut and Ringwiesen stations. We worked exclusively at night, with a bus service available from 10 p.m. onwards to substitute for the regular rail service and keep the line running.
