With more than 180 depot solutions installed and commissioned successfully in over 15 countries, we can offer ample demonstration of our technological expertise. Our comprehensive services include engineering, material supply, and technical construction support.
Planning tools
With our ELFF and BIM planning tools, we can support you in realising customised solutions for overhead contact line projects. Through detailed visualisation and analysis, these tools make it possible to ensure precise and efficient planning processes and optimal project implementation and monitoring. VOLTTAP fast-charging station for battery trains
We are expanding our expertise into the future of mobility with our range of fast-charging stations for battery trains. Introducing our subsidiaries

Our foreign subsidiaries play an important role in expanding our international presence and expertise.

Since its early days in the 1930s and the creation of the export department in the 1990s, Furrer+Frey has focussed consistently on the global market. Our subsidiaries underline our commitment to offering innovative and customised solutions worldwide, allowing us to serve markets directly and combine local requirements with the premium Swiss quality of our products and services.

Furrer+Frey Italy

Having been active in Italy for some time, we established Furrer+Frey Italia s.r.l. as our first international subsidiary in 2006. The team in Rome has worked to strengthen our relationships with local partners and key customers such as the Italian metros and railways, contributing our extensive experience and high quality standards to numerous overhead contact line projects over the years. Our expertise with overhead conductor rails in tunnels and depots is particularly noteworthy. Furrer+Frey Italy cooperates closely with its parent company in Switzerland when it comes to international projects.

Furrer+Frey Great Britain

The foundation of Furrer+Frey GB Ltd. in 2011 allowed us to establish a firm position in the UK and Ireland, where we have been active since the 1980s. We have built on our leading role in the renewal of railway lines to create a name for ourselves in new electrification projects, including multimodal charging stations. Particular milestones were the development of the GEFF (Great Eastern Furrer Frey) and Series 1 (Great Western) overhead contact line systems, as well as the first battery-charging stations for light rail vehicles and the development of composite masts. In our role as recognised electrification experts, we work with all major infrastructure operators and contractors.

Furrer+Frey Germany

Since 2016, Furrer+Frey Deutschland GmbH has been providing comprehensive services that cover all phases of a project – from initial planning to final installation. Thanks to its strong local roots and a comprehensive network built up over the years, the subsidiary was soon able to establish itself as our location with the most employees. We carry out overhead contact line projects throughout Germany that are aligned with the standards of Deutsche Bahn and benefit from the use of Furrer+Frey’s innovative systems.

Furrer+Frey China

Furrer+Frey entered the Chinese market in the early 2000s with its innovative solutions centred mainly around projects with our rigid overhead conductor rail systems. The establishment of our subsidiary FurrerFrey Electrification (Guangdong) Limited in Guangdong in 2012 helped to reinforce our position in China.

Furrer+Frey China also works closely with the Swiss team on international projects.

Furrer+Frey India

Active in India since 2007, Furrer&Frey India Private Ltd. successfully implemented important electrification projects such as for the Delhi Metro early on and played a key role in the introduction of the overhead conductor rail system. Innovations such as the “single insulated cantilever” and the retractable overhead conductor rails underline our contribution to the electrification of the Indian railway network. The establishment of our newest subsidiary in New Delhi in 2021 allows us to provide our customers with even more direct support.
