After more than a year of intensive work, we are now pleased to present our new website – a milestone that is the result of a highly constructive teamwork, both internal and external.

Furrer+Frey has been certified for the fourth time by EcoVadis, the world’s largest provider of corporate sustainability assessments. And once again in the fourth year, we were able to make significant improvements and were awarded a silver medal!

The success story of our retractable rigid overhead conductor rail systems (ROCS) continues – this time with a project in the UK, where we have commissioned another state-of-the-art system on test tracks at the new Taff’s Well depot in South Wales.

The single-track line between Giswil and Lungern, operated by Zentralbahn, and the protective measures against natural hazards along this line are in urgent need of renewal. For this purpose, the line was closed completely for ten weeks during autumn 2023.

We are delighted to announce that we are the recipients of the Phoenix Award 2023 for long-term entrepreneurship. We succeeded in convincing the jury with our entrepreneurial spirit, expertise, and innovative strength.

Over the course of just eight weekends, with the line closed for 54 hours from Saturday to Monday morning each time, the old overhead contact line system in the SBB Heitersberg Tunnel was dismantled and a new rigid overhead conductor rail system (ROCS) installed.

The 4-metre north-south corridor was completed in September 2020 with the addition of the Ceneri base tunnel. The next milestone was reached at the beginning of June 2023, with all tunnels on the line via Monte Ceneri now adapted to accommodate semi-trailers with a fourmetre corner height. Between 2016 and 2023, we equipped 22 tunnels and short lines from Basel to Chiasso with rigid overhead conductor rails for 4-metre corner heights.

The Sande‒Wilhelmshaven section was electrified as part of the ASS project Oldenburg‒Wilhelmshaven. The Mariensiel bascule bridges over the Ems-Jade Canal are located at kilometre 48.091.
