Project name: Control systems, Spiez workshop
Partner(s): –
Year of completion: 2019
The BLS workshop in Spiez has been extensively renovated, modernised, and expanded to improve the maintenance of S-Bahn trains. In Hall A, all six tracks are fitted with single overhead contact wires, some of which have been adapted to operational requirements. A multi-voltage test system with a rigid overhead conductor rail was installed in Hall H. The new halls P and Q have four tracks around 120 metres long, two of which are fitted with retractable overhead conductor rails and two with single overhead contact wires. Hall Q also contains a washing facility.
Switching and conductor rail retraction are controlled, signalled, and monitored by an autonomous automatic switch-off and earthing system. In addition, various production facilities such as crane, jack system, washing facility and multi-voltage test systems, a 15 kV testing plant, roof working platforms, rolling scaffolding, and fall protection systems were integrated mechanically and/or electrically into the control system.
