The Ceneri Base Tunnel, the last remaining section of the New Rail Link through the Alps (NRLA) on the Gotthard axis, was fitted with an overhead contact line system by Furrer+Frey. The Furrer+Frey rigid overhead conductor rail system (ROCS) for high-speed trains travelling at up to 250 km/h is in use throughout the tunnel, while a conventional SBB overhead contact line (R2+) was installed on the northern access tracks. We were responsible for the planning and delivery of all material for the overhead contact line systems.
